In life, someone has good luck and someone has bad luck.
Cézar had damn bad luck, because during his trip he met dumb gamekeeper who obviously did not know laws of CZ and with no hesitation gunned down HUNTING dog. The gamekeeper claimed that Cézar was supposedly hunting fallow-deer.
